Sometimes life brings challenges that leave us standing in need of additional support.

You may find yourself surviving anxiety, hurt in relationship, grieved by loss, or trying to find footing in a life transition. You may desire a safe space to lament, to ask questions, to learn you are not alone, and to build upon your strengths. I believe therapy can provide this space and this support.

In therapy, I will partner with you.

I will help you as you work to understand and address the challenges before you. If you are unsure about your needs (or the needs of a loved one), please do not hesitate to call for a consultation. I value connection, whether that results in our working together or an appropriate referral elsewhere.

With 15+ years in the field, I remain in this work with HOPE. If you find yourself seeking support, please connect with me and we'll start to get it for you.

Hi! I'm Amanda Worst.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Calvin College and my Master’s of Social Work from Western Michigan University. I am a licensed clinical social worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I have served in the field of social work for 15+ years. My work experience includes providing individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as psychoeducation and advocacy. I have been employed at local organizations including DA Blodgett-St. John's Home, ICCF Community Homes, and Calvin College's Center for Counseling and Wellness.

I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they face challenges and seek support. I am also grateful to work with the community to provide supportive and preventative education. I have presented on various mental health related topics and am a certified QPR suicide prevention trainer. While employed at Calvin College, I facilitated the Sexual Assault Prevention Team, a team dedicated to providing support for victim-survivors and education for the campus community. In partnership with the Christian Reformed Church's Safe Church Ministry, I have educated families about safe relationships through the abuse prevention curriculum, Circle of Grace.

I have lived in the Grand Rapids area for 19+ years. I'm married and have three young children. I enjoy spending time with new and familiar faces, and experiencing the fullness that the greater Grand Rapids area has to offer.

Standard office fee

My office fee is $135.00 for a session. I am an out-of-network provider for many insurance plans. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan.

At each appointment, you will be given a detailed receipt (often called a "superbill") which you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is recommended that you contact your insurance benefit line prior to your first appointment so that you are aware of what will be covered.

Financial need

I value accessibility to therapy services regardless of income level. Please ask about reduced rates, which are based on financial need and reduced fee appointments that are available.

In addition, I am a member of Open Path Collective, a nationwide effort aimed at providing affordable therapy and mental health education for all. Their network might also have options that serve you, and I'm happy to discuss those with you when we connect.

Questions?

If you have any questions on my office fees, how to speak with your insurance provider or anything else, please do not hesitate to ask.
